If you’re touching down in the San Francisco Bay area and don’t have time to make it into the city, where do you stay that’s clean, affordable and convenient to the airport?
Here are our top picks:
At the high end is the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, a hotel with a free shuttle to the airport or car rental agency and a business center open 24 hours a day, helpful for checking your email or printing boarding passes. A check of rates in January showed a night’s stay starting at $179.
In the mid-range, chose the Clarion Hotel San Francisco Airport. This pet-friendly hotel offers parking (for a fee) and a basic exercise room as well as the standard airport shuttle. In January, rooms go for around $100 per night.
If your company isn’t footing the bill, try the Travelodge San Francisco Airport South, which was awarded Travelodge’s top awards for property of the year and best customer experience. Accommodations are basic but decent, with a free airport shuttle and continental breakfast starting at 6 a.m. But ditch the hotel for dinner–it’s located near some of the Bay Area’s best Chinese food, a quick walk up Broadway in the town of Millbrae. A check of January’s rates shows a stay will set you back a mere $75 per night.
