If Milton was a blonde girl gone missing, there would have a national outcry. But since he’s an 8 year old turtle made of clay and wood who belongs to a Boca Raton hotel, no one cares.

Two weeks ago, the Bridge Hotel in Boca Raton, Fla. hauled Milton out of his usual hangout at the hotel’s Watercolors restaurant during a renovation, and put him just outside the hotel lobby.

Dastardly criminals spirited Milton off in the darkness of the night, and he remains missing todate. If you happen to see a 350 pound pasty yellowish-green turtle, about 5 ft 5 tall, that’s our boy Milton.

Inform the relevant authorities, and you get a $2000 reward – $1000 in hard cash and $1000 in hotel credits, which you can use for room nights and/or at the hotel’s two restaurants for dining.

Why all the fuss about a clay turtle? Turns out Milton is an object of art. Apparently the hotel commissioned award-winning artist Todd Warner to create Milton as the hotel’s mascot in 2002 and he’s now worth over $25,000.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Milton, contact Greg Kaylor, General Manager at The Boca Raton Bridge Hotel at (561) 368-9500 or email him at [g.kaylor @ bocaratonbridgehotel.com].

In addition to the ocean view, the 121 guest rooms and a Milton-themed kids’ menu at the aforementioned waterfront Watercolors restaurant, the family-friendly Bridge Hotel also offers Carmen’s at the Top of the Bridge – another restaurant with outdoor seating and views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic.
