The Exterior of the Taj Boston Hotel

One of my favorite luxury hotels in Boston, the Taj Boston Hotel, located right on the corner of Newbury Street, is celebrating love this month with a few great promotions.

On February 10th, join Boston Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara and left winger Milan Lucic for a cocktail reception and fashion show featuring the wives and girlfriends of the Boston Bruins.  The cost is $100 for admission only, or $200 including a swag bag worth more than $200!

For Valentine’s Day weekend, the Taj is offering a Cooking for My Love package available to only ten couples.  Guests have their choice of either a park-view room or a park-view suite, and will have the chance to work with a chef to learn how to prepare a dinner course.  Then, the women will be treated to session with a personal stylist, while the men will get a tour of the Sam Adams brewery.  This special event will also include a delicious lunch and luxury accommodations.

On February 13th, dads with daughters aged 5-16 can enjoy a special father-daughter dance, complete with dance lessons and a delicious luncheon with tomato soup with a grilled cheese garnish, mini cheeseburgers, and chicken fingers.

Romance at Caribe Royale Orlando

Still haven’t made your plans for Valentine’s weekend?  The clock is ticking, especially if you hope to take advantage of some of the great deals hotels are offering for couples looking to get away for a night or two.  If you move quickly, you may still be able to book one of these special Valentine’s Day hotel packages in Orlando!

Orlando Hotel Specials for Valentine’s Day

Stay in the big pink Caribe Royale Orlando this Valentine’s weekend and pay $178.99 per night for a one-bedroom suite or $262.99 per night for a two-bedroom villa. You’ll also receive a nightly $50 food and beverage credit, romance-themed welcome amenity with champagne and a late check-out.

If you’re considering a visit to Universal or SeaWorld, consider a stay at the newly renovated Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando, an official partner hotel that offers complimentary shuttle service to the nearby parks.  Their romantic getaway package includes champagne and chocolates upon arrival, along with breakfast for two, for $59.99 per night.

Looking for something more upscale?  You can’t beat the Waldorf Astoria Orlando.  Their “Chocolate, Wine & Romance Weekends” package is available  exclusively for overnight guests the weekends before and after Valentine’s Day Feb. 12-13 and 19-20 and includes wine and chocolate pairings, chocolate tastings, and art tours. Room rates for the weekend start at $289 for Feb. 12-13 and $309 for Feb. 19-20.

Comfort Suites in Palm Bay, Florida

The Melbourne, Florida area is a popular destination for business and pleasure trips. The Melbourne International Airport and Melbourne Convention Center make it convenient for business, while families enjoy the Brevard Zoo and beautiful Melbourne Beach. The Comfort Suites in Palm Bay, Florida provides inexpensive accommodations nearby with amenities to meet the needs of both vacationers and business travelers.

The all-suite hotel is located just off Interstate 95 and is less than five miles from the white sands of Melbourne Beach.  All rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs, microwaves and refrigerators.  The property also offers an outdoor heated pool (yes, there is a need for heated pools in Florida) and a small but adequate fitness center.  Wireless internet is available in each guest room for no additional fee.

Although I haven’t stayed at this particular property, newly remodeled properties near popular tourist attractions have helped Comfort Suites hotels build a reputation for offering great value at a reasonable price, especially for families and business travelers.  These locations aren’t resorts, but they do provide clean, safe and conveniently located headquarters for family vacations and business trips.  With rates starting as little as $88 per night and largely positive reviews from past guests, the Comfort Suites Palm Bay seems to be meeting those expectations for visitors to Southeast Florida.
