Tara Lodge – Belfast’s Top Rated Hotel

Tara Lodge - Best Rated Hotel in Belfast

Whether you’re visiting Belfast for one of their local festivals or just taking in the sights of this historic town, make sure to check out the Tara Lodge hotel.  Why?  Because other tourists say so!

Tara Lodge is not only an AA four star rated hotel, but it’s received the #1 rating from past guests and reviewers at TripAdvisor.  What are past visitors to this Northern Ireland hotel raving about?

“Our room was smart, modern and spotlessly clean, with really nice toiletries in the bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were interesting rather than just the usual fry-up (try the pancakes with lemon and honey sauce – wow!).”

“What the Tara Lodge lacks in gymnasiums and swimming pools, it more than makes up for in friendliness and customer service.”

“The hotel is a few minutes walk from some of the best restaurants, pubs and clubs in Belfast, with the city center being 10 minutes walk or a £3 taxi ride away.”

Exceptional service, clean accommodations and a great location – what more could you ask for?  A great price, of course!  A night at the Tara Lodge will only cost you about $100 per night, a shy below average for other top rated hotels in the Belfast area.

Tara Lodge is a small hotel with just 28 available rooms and no on-site restaurant or bar, but it does offer its guests free WiFi, a rare amenity for small B&B types.  While you will have to go out to grab a bite or a drink, there are dozens of option for both just a short walk away.  And who wants to eat in a hotel when you’re traveling anyway?

The Fitzwilliam in Belfast, Northern Ireland

The city of Belfast in Northern Ireland has gone through an incredible resurgence in the past few years.   This once troubled city is now transformed and blossoming – and with this almost magical restoration, lovely attractions, shopping, restaurants and hotels are popping up all over the place.  It’s a city well worth a visit.

One such luxury property is the Fitzwilliam Hotel.  A medium-sized boutique hotel in the heart of the city, guests are immediately greeted with languid style and super-friendly (it is Ireland, after all!) service.  It’s marketed as a hotel for business travelers – but it is perfect for couples and even for families traveling to the city.

Each of the 130 guest rooms is designed to soothe the savage guest.  The hotel says it was aiming to create a “personal sanctuary” – and it’s not far off the mark.  The cool, muted colors and decor immediately make you feel at home.  And the large, comfy beds with Egyptian cotton linens and extra pillows don’t hurt either.  It’s quite inviting – and hard not to immediately jump on board and take a nap once you see it.
