While traveling by bus through one of the least attractive neighborhoods in San Francisco, I happened to motor past Good Hotel and noted their sign: Check out Good Hotel on Twitter!
So I did. Good Hotel’s Twitter feed features deals at the hotel and its attached restaurant as well as bits of information about local weather and sustainability. Through the social networking site, you’ll learn that you can use the promo code “twitter” to find rates as low as $55 per night at the hotel.
Who else in the hotel-verse is using Twitter? With the tagline “Hotels for Global Nomads,” Tablet Hotels focuses on high-end resorts for travelers who toss their Missoni maillots in a logo bag and take off for sunny climes. Their Twitter feed mostly advertises properties that have been added to their site in addition to a few exclusive offers.
Fairmont Hotels’ Twitter feed advertises special deals and prizes, and pings fellow Twitterers with tips on their travel plans. Sign on for that feed to get reassurances like “Your trip is approaching quickly. If you need anything else before your visit, please let me know.” Gold star, Fairmont.
