My quick check for a 7 night stay at the Ritz Carlton San Francisco using the Peace of Mind package for July 6-13, 2009 shows I can get 7 nights at a rate for 4 nights, or $1,751 after tax for the week. This is an average of $250 per night and includes parking and breakfast. That is a good deal for the Ritz Carlton.

The value added package includes complimentary parking (about $71 value per night. Great deal if I have a car) and free breakfast (about $50 day value for two guests). This is a good deal if I have a car and eat breakfast every day. Without a car the value drops substantially.

The otherwise lowest rate is $199 per day for a comparable room to the Peace of Mind package without the breakfast or car parking. 7 day rate after tax is $1,608.91.

Someone without a car is essentially able to get breakfast for two every day for an extra $20 per day using the Peace of Mind package.

The Peace of Mind package is a good value if you otherwise would need to pay for a car. Peace of Mind still offers a slight discount on breakfast even if you don't have a car.

But the deal is not as great a deal as one would think when seeing a package offer of "Stay 7 Nights, Pay 4 Nights - Peace of Mind" package would suggest.

The best feature of the Peace of Mind package at the San Francisco RC is the ability to cancel up to 24 hours with no charge.

I wonder why you are impressed with the "Peace of Mind" package.

Is it a good value for the Ritz-Carlton?

Will the package rate save a significant amount of money on the otherwise lowest available rates for a comparable room and services? How good a deal is it?

This post reads like a hotel advertisement without the substance or analysis to know if this is just an ad pitch or if there is a real value opportunity in booking the Ritz-Carlton using the One Vacation special offer.

Another great deal at the Ritz Carlton. We used to think the Ritz was for snobby people when we were younger. Now we know the truth -there is no vacation more snazzy then a stay in the Ritz Carlton. The Ritz in Rancho Mirage, California is a personal favorite of ours and is highly recommended.
