Helen Georgia
Helen, Georgia is a fun and funky German town about 1.5 hours north of Atlanta. You can get pretty authentic German food, good tubing on the ‘hooch in the summer, play in gorgeous foliage in the Fall and maybe even see some snow during winter. The Best Western is a clean, comfortable hotel that’s very close to the center of town, and it’s a great home base for your stay. Nothing fancy here, but you do get a free continental breakfast.

Also in the center of town, this hotel offers a heated pool and the Chattahoochee is directly behind the hotel.

Amicalola Falls
Amicalola Falls is one of Georgia’s most popular state parks, and it’s only a one-hour drive from Atlanta.
This beautiful hotel is only steps away from the 729-foot Amicalola Falls. There are 56 rooms in the main building and 14 cottages to enjoy as well.
This comfortable inn is popular with hikers. It’s a “green” hotel, meaning it makes every effort to reduce its impact on the surrounding environment.Only 20 rooms are available, so book early!
Under 1.5 from Atlanta, beautiful Lake Lanier is as popular spot for boating, jet skiing, sailing and more.
This is a beautiful, family-friendly resort is close to all the fun activities that Lake Lanier has to offer. Families will love the proximity to the water park (at least in summer!) and there is great shopping nearby as well.
