What’s better than a beachfront all-suite luxury hotel in Maui? That would be a beachfront all-suite luxury hotel in Maui that’s offering a 50 percent discount.

That description currently fits both The Fairmont Kea Lani resort and The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach. Both are undergoing renovations, and both have ‘Pardon our Dust’ offers.

The Fairmont Kea Lani

In fact, The Fairmont Kea Lani has a whole bunch of renovation packages. There’s a basic ‘Renovation with Aloha’ package which includes accommodations in a 1-bedroom luxury suite or a villa, with rates from $219 per night.

The $219 rate is a far cry from their usual $439 per night. Valid for stays until Dec 16, 2011. Then there’s also a ‘Renovation with Aloha Breakfast’ package and a ‘Renovation with Aloha Golf’ package too.

Apart from the spectacular Polo Beach and the beach-front suites and villas, The Fairmont Kea Lani offers complimentary transportation service to the adjacent Wailea Golf Club, tennis courts and shops at the Wailea Shopping Center.

The resort has three pools, two of which are connected by a 140-ft waterslide and have neat places to hang out like an island cabana in the middle of the pool. Then there’s the famous Spa Kea Lani and a 24-hour fitness center, a bakery and a deli and four other restaurants including the famed Ko.

Guests get complimentary self-parking, don’t have to pay a resort fee, and those with kids under 5 can save on meals with the ‘Kids Eat Free’ program.

As for the Whaler on Kaanapali Beach, their construction special includes accommodations in a 640 sq ft studio suite at a nightly rate of $168, which is a big discount on the standard $300 rate for this suite. Two night minimum stay required, and the package is valid from now until Dec 21, 2011.

Oh, and you also get a free pineapple and free access to the resort’s DVD collection. The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach, located minutes from Lahaina and directly across from two championship golf courses, offers private access to the shops and restaurants at Whalers Village.

Their studio and 1 & 2 bedroom suites include fully-equipped kitchens and private lanais. You get free in-room high speed internet, and there’s a children’s program called “Camp Kaanapali” nearby that is open to all guests staying at the hotel.

Sage Hospitality has a huge half-price summer sale in about 40 hotels in seventeen states, which has to be booked right now for summer stays.

Book the stay before 5 p.m. on March 04, 2011 and you get 50% off on the best available rate for a stay between May 26 and Sept. 5, 2011.

The list of participating hotels includes two hotels in Southern California, in Los Angeles and San Diego. Well, actually the LA hotel is in Monrovia in the San Gabriel Valley, but it is Los Angeles County. The San Diego hotel is in Del Mar, which is good enough too.

There are three participating hotels in Seattle, an airport hotel in Las Vegas and one each in Tempe, AZ and Ogden, UT. Colorado has a whole bunch on the list, with six hotels in Denver alone. There’s one in Portland, OR – the Marriott Portland City Center hotel, that is LEED certified.

In the south, there’s one hotel in Atlanta – the historic Glenn Hotel across from the Georgia Aquarium.  Florida has two hotels, one each in Fort Myers and Orlando.

The one in Orlando – the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando at SeaWorld, sounds pretty good for a summer vacation. The best available rate offered by this hotel begins from $129, so you could get a nightly rate of around $65.

There are two hotels in Texas – one at Six Flags in San Antonio and another one in Houston. Alabama also has two hotels on the list, in Spanish Fort. There is one on the list in North Carolina, in Charlotte.

The Midwest is pretty well represented too, with a couple of Chicago hotels, one each in Milwaukee and Cleveland and three in Michigan. Hotels in the Northeast are a bit sparse, but there is one in Pittsburgh.

All said and done, a pretty good deal for a cheap vacation just about anywhere you want, provided you book before 5 p.m. on March 4.

Orbitz.com has launched an ‘I Love the Gulf’ promotion under which you can get 40% off on participating hotels in select Gulf Coast cities.

Out of the 10 participating hotels in Panama City, the Sugar Sands Inn & Suites is the only one offering 50%. All four hotels in Fort Lauderdale are offering 30% off.

On September 9, 2010 at exactly 12:00 noon, the Hoxton Hotel in London is once again releasing 595 rooms for £1 and another 595 rooms at £29.

The last time the hotel tried something like this, their website and booking system got drowned by over 250,000 people trying to book the rooms and the 1000 rooms got sold out in 13 minutes flat.

The one pound rooms can be booked only via the hotel’s website, and for those who manage to get to the booking page before others, the stay must be booked for in between 10th Sept 2010 – 9th January 2011.

Each person is allowed to book only one room for one night only. Extra nights or rooms will have to booked separately at the standard rates. The room rates are the same irrespective for single and double occupancy.

One child under the age of 12 can stay free, and guests can ask for an extra bed free of charge. The £1 sale includes a room with a choice of a queen bed or two single beds. The hotel has 185 double bedrooms with one queen size bed and 20 twin bedrooms with 2 single beds.

A free breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice, a granola yoghurt pot and a banana will be delivered to your room. They also have onsite the American style Hoxton Grill downstairs with rates from £5, in case the free lite Pret Breakfast isn’t enough.

The 205 room Hoxton Hotel opened in 2006, and is located 5 minutes from the Old Street Tube in Shoreditch in East London. It claims to be a ‘no bull shit hotel’ with low rates (£59 per night, if you book well in advance) and you get water and milk in the fridge and cheap phone calls to America, in addition to the free breakfast.

The entire hotel has free wi-fi, and the rooms have flat screen television and bathrooms with rain showers and fluffy towels. There is an ATM and a convinience store in the lobby, not to mention a cool wireframe Lamborghini.
