Get on Two Wheels With New Orleans Marriott Bicycle Rentals

Chill out in comfort at the New Orleans Marriott

Believe it or not, New Orleans is great for bicycling. Besides being relatively flat, the casual city is extremely welcoming to nearly any type of transportation—without batting a glittery eye. On your New Orleans vacation, explore the Crescent City on two wheels with the New Orleans Marriott bicycle rentals.

Right at the edge of the French Quarter, the New Orleans Marriott is ideally situated for the beginning of a great bike tour. Start with a tasty beignet (or more) and cup of café au lait for breakfast, and hit the streets with your convenient bike rental, starting at just $15.99 per day.

For some simple style, grab a beach cruiser (rates start at $15.99). If you need a little extra juice, upgrade to an electric bicycle (rates start at $39.99 per day). If even that’s not enough, and you’re looking for something that’ll let you zoom, consider a Vespa or Harley-Davidson motorcycle (rates start at $49.99 and $101 per day, respectively).

Snag the perfect route from Bike Louisiana, create your own, or just meander from distraction to distraction. And when you’re done, turn your ride in at the hotel, get some good downtime and then hit the streets on foot to compare views.

POP Goes the New Orleans Hotel Collection

When you tote up the cost of wi-fi and parking and a gazillion other items that guests are forced to pay for in a hotel, the final tab looks very different from the “best available rate.”

But that’s not the way the money goes at six hotels in the Big Easy that are part of the New Orleans Hotel Collection. This bunch is offering guests everything they need at a single price, in a summer travel promo called POP (Pay one Price).

Bourbon Orleans Hotel

Bourbon Orleans Hotel

The participating hotels include:

1. Bourbon Orleans Hotel

2. Dauphine Orleans Hotel

3. St. Louis Hotel

4. Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans

5. Hotel Le Marais

6. Crowne Plaza New Orleans Airport

The promo includes free valet parking, free continental breakfast, free wireless internet, free shopping coupons (valued at $250), and free in-room bottled water and coffee. And you get a free welcome drink on arrival.

With some very nice and historic hotels located mostly in the French Quarter, rates starting from $99, and no extras or hidden fees, it looks like a pretty good deal.

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel is a historic French Quarter hotel near St. Louis Cathedral, and they have suites that offer balconies overlooking Bourbon Street. The Dauphine, also historic and in the French Quarter, offers a palm-filled courtyard and private saltwater pools.

If anything, the St. Louis Hotel located half a block from the jazz clubs and nightlife of Bourbon Street, has an even more lush and tropical courtyard, and the award-winning Louis XVI Restaurant.

If historic French buildings and decor is not your thing, then Hotel Le Marais is a newish hotel in the French Quarter which has a trendy bar and a thing for purple, like the high-tech airport pod hotels or the Virgin America planes.

Whatever the choice, if you want to POP over to one of these hotels in New Orleans for the summer, then call (855) 798-6642 and mention the promo code POP. Or book online here.

A Review of the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans

Ritz-Carlton New Orleans Lobby

I’ve always loved attending the Mom 2.0 Summit, and this years’ summit took place at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans. Great content, plus a luxurious stay?  I purchased a ticket almost a year in advance.

The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans is located in the French Quarter, on Canal Street.  The amazing service started right upon arrival, when the bell and lobby staff greeted me with a smile.  My room, located in a corner on the 6th floor, was beautiful and spacious, with two double beds, a desk, a closet, and a medium-sized bathroom.

Internet access was included with the room, but I’m not sure if that was a perk of being part of the conference.  In-room access was either wireless or wired, and worked well, however, we did have some difficulty logging on in the conference space.  The Ritz staff was responsive, and resolved the problem quickly.

Despite the beauty of the hotel, in my experience, the best part of the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans is the amazing service.  The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful, and every staff member I passed by greeted me with a smile and a “How are you?”.  They also were eager to offer directions and suggestions, even pointing out the best and safest walking path.  Of course, the amenities are also wonderful – turn down service, free bottled water, luxurious robes and slippers, and flat-screen televisions.
