It’s almost time to ring in 2011, and to help travelers ring it in with a bang for the buck, many hotels are offering $20.11 deals. It’s a bit late in the day, but if someone is willing to offer you a decent room for $20.11 for a cheap vacation, then why not?

Hyatt Regency Greenwich Hotel (Greenwich, CT): This AAA three diamond greater Stamford hotel is offering an NYE package that includes a two day stay. New Year’s Eve at $149 and New Year’s Day at $20.11.

That means a two-night stay at $169.11 in a 373-room hotel with flatscreens, high speed internet, a 24-hr fitness center, steam room, sauna and a lot more. Use promo code NYE1.

The Parker Inn (Schenectady, NY): While a 100 million people are getting ready to watch New York City’s New Year’s Eve party, some might prefer to get away from the bedlam. The Parker Inn offers the perfect excuse, with rates of $20.11 per person (yes, that works out to $40.22 for two people).

But you can get an upgrade to an executive suite for another $20.11, and add in a bottle of champagne and chocolate for $20.11. Scandalous rip-off in the name of the new year, but it still offers an executive suite for two with a bottle of champagne and chocolate for $80.44, which isn’t half bad.

Westin Virginia Beach (Virginia Beach, VA): Identical NYE deal like the Hyatt above. Book two nights, first night on New Year’s Eve for $159 and the second night for $20.11.

Radisson Kenosha Hotel (Pleasant Prairie, WS): NYE package for $124 includes overnight accommodations, a bottle of champagne and a $25.00 certificate to the Chancery Restaurant & Pub. Enjoy the NYE party at the restaurant and then enjoy a 2nd night’s stay the hotel with an indoor swimming pool, hot tub and all on Jan 1, 2011 for $20.11.

The $3.9 billion Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas with 2,995 rooms opens its doors to the public on Dec 15, with a grand launch party scheduled for New Year’s Eve.

Anything new in Sincity has to be bigger and different from everyone else. And so it is with the Cosmopolitan, an extravagant resort sandwiched between the Bellagio and CityCenter. When guests arrive in the lobby, they are greeted by eight massive video columns to change the setting.

The lavish luxury here is only the beginning, and there’ll be jaw-dropping experiences like the 3-story Chandelier Bar with floor-to-ceiling windows and a view of the strip set in the middle of the gaming floor. It’s essentially a bar tucked into a giant chandelier made up of 2 million crystals.

Unlike other Las Vegas resorts, this one doesn’t have restaurants sprinkled all over the place. Instead, it has a kind of restaurant neighborhood on level 3, with 14 restaurants including a nondescript pizza joint and a posh Greek restaurant.

Also, there’s a certain libertarian touch to the arrangements, in that everyone can do what they want without getting in anyone else’s way – Their video ad gets it just right with the tagline – “Just the Right Amount of Wrong.” People who don’t want to gamble never have to see the slots.

The three pool areas have the usual cabanas and poolside facilities, but each of these pool areas also caters to a different set of guests – The Boulevard Pool sits 100 feet above the Strip and has a terrace stage that can easily accommodate 2500 to 3000 people for concerts and such. The Bamboo pool is a more private area, with a canyon-like feel to it.

The Day Club Pool has dual functions – it is a lounge pool by day and a part of the Marquee Nightclub after the sun goes down. The 60,000 sq ft Marquee is scheduled to open on New Year’s Eve, and it will be the largest nightclub in Vegas, which is no mean achievement.

The Cosmopolitan, like most every other casino resort in Vegas, offers everything from a gigantic gaming floor to branded shopping, art installations and artists in residence, a spa, and entertainment venues. But the single most defining aspect of the Cosmopolitan are the rooms.

Renaissance New York: Distance from ball drop – 0 miles. Hard to beat that. They don’t have an NYE package per se, but the rooms that do have a ball drop view (may not be available) are worth a lot more than any package deal.

Casablanca Hotel: Package includes a champagne toast on the roof to watch the extravaganza unfold below. Also includes a bottle of Italian wine, free breakfast buffet, and a dinner party (with open bar) for 2 on Dec 31 at the hotel’s restaurant and a wine and cheese reception before that.

DoubleTree Guest Suites: Package includes suite plus overnight parking, breakfast and a bottle of champagne delivered on Dec 31. Two day minimum stay (Dec 30-31) required.

Marriott Marquis Times Square: Hard to talk about Times Square and New Year’s Eve celebrations without mentioning this hotel, since they do have a view of the ball drop and their NYE party is one of the hottest tickets in town. For more details, call 212-704-8747.

Hampton Inn Manhattan (Times Square North): One of the closest hotels to the ball drop. They don’t have an NYE package, but if there’s a possibility for scoring a relatively cheap room in Times Square for New Year’s eve, then it has got to be at this hotel.
