The Hotel Viking in the Fall

The Hotel Viking, one of the most popular hotels in Newport, Rhode Island, is offering several hotel packages this season.  Fall is a great time to visit Newport, because the weather is still generally nice, but the crowds (and the rates) have decreased from the busy summer season.

The Newport Mansion package is one of the packages being offered this fall.  It includes breakfast for two in One Bellevue as well as tickets for two people to the Historic Newport Mansions (just a short drive from the Hotel Viking).  Would you prefer more of a spa weekend?  The Hotel Viking is also offering the Spa Terre Escape, which includes overnight accommodations, two fifty minute spa treatments, complimentary valet parking, and complimentary wireless internet.  If you’d rather not book a hotel package, you can also get 15% off at the Hotel Viking in the month of October.

Regardless of which package you choose, there’s plenty to do in Newport in October, including ghost tours, the Jack-O-Lantern jog, and pumpkin patches.  When you are done with your fall Newport adventure, you’ll enjoy relaxing at the Hotel Viking.  It’s centrally located, and offers complimentary high-speed internet, flat-screen LCD televisions, rain head shower heads, and more.

The Exterior of the Hotel Viking

This fall, come discover why the wealthy families of the Gilded Age called Newport, Rhode Island their home away from home in the summer.  The Hotel Viking, located steps from Newport’s historic waterfront, is offering two great packages for the fall.  It’s the perfect time to visit with lower rates and smaller crowds!

With the Newport Mansion package, you’ll be able to visit your choice of Newport’s famous historic mansions.  Personally, I’d choose to visit the Breakers, which the largest and most luxurious of the Mansions (and a place where I worked during my college years!).

The Rooftop at the Vanderbilt Grace

Grace Hotels, an international luxury hotel group, has opened their first hotel in the United States, the Vanderbilt Grace hotel in Newport, Rhode Island.  Formerly called Vanderbilt Hall, the Vanderbilt Grace was built in 1909 and was originally owned by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt from the famed Vanderbilt family.

The Vanderbilt Grace offers thirty-three luxury guest rooms and suites, two on-site restaurants, a spa, a fitness center, and outdoor pool, and an indoor pool.  A new restaurant, Muse by Jonathan Cartwright, features New England ingredients in modern European cuisine.  Chef Cartwright, the new Chef de Cuisine for the Grace Hotel Group  is best known as Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux at Vanderbilt Grace’s sister hotel (and one of my personal favorites) The White Barn Inn in Kennebunk, Maine.

Vanderbilt Grace is offering several wonderful packages this summer, including a Fourth of July Package, which includes the following:

• A three-night stay at Vanderbilt Grace
• A poolside BBQ on the 3rd of July
• A duet treatment at the Vanderbilt Grace’s spa

This package is valid from July 1, 2011 through July 4, 2011, and starts at $1769.

There are other packages for the summer also, including a Newport Folk Festival package which includes tickets to the popular long-running festival and a dinner.

The Conservatory at Vanderbilt Hall

Vanderbilt Hall, a luxurious mansion hotel established in 1909 and located in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island, is offering several travel packages to guests visiting Newport this spring.  The hotel is located right in the heart of Newport, within walking distance to the beautiful, historic waterfront.

The first package, for guests celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Newport, is valid from now through March 20, 2011, and includes one night accommodations in the hotel, specialty cocktails and a St. Patrick’s Day continental breakfast.  Rates for this package start at $345 for one night.

The second package, the Spring Solstice Package, is valid from March 18, 2011 through March 31, 2011.  It includes one night accommodation at Vanderbilt Hall, flowers and champagne in your room upon arrival, and a continental breakfast.  Rates for this package start at $365 per night.

Vanderbilt Hall offers thirty-three luxurious suites and rooms, including the 1,000 square foot Vanderbilt Suite.  Located just one block from Thames Street, it’s extremely convenient to most of the waterfront restaurants, attractions, and shops – you can just easily walk.  Rooms include amenities such as air conditioning, cashmere throws, and in-room entertainment systems.  The hotel offers an onsite spa, pool, and fitness center, along with an intimate restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
