You don’t really have to go around trick-or-treating, if you’d rather be spooky and enjoy the candy too. That you can, with these Halloween themed hotel packages and parties.

Loews Hotels: R.I.P in a ‘Spooky Suite’ at 13 participating Loews hotels. Package includes a Halloween themed suite, a loot bag with tricks and treats, and a selection of costumes from a catalog for both children and adults (and babies and pets too).

The adult costume choices include Harry Potter themed costumes, Greek warrior/ Olympic goddess and hippie couple. Kids can choose to be a loyal knight, lil sheriff, referee, purple witch, a garden fairy or wear a flight suit.

The offer is valid Oct 25-31, and you have to book five days in advance and choose your costumes at least 3 days before arrival.

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego: If you’re looking for a Halloween party, it won’t get any better than this. The Hard Rock San Diego has a massive Halloween party planned across three floors and multiple venues with some huge DJ talent to rock the place.

Your room package includes two VIP tickets to the most happening party in San Diego on Saturday, October 29.

Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, CO: The most famous haunted hotel in the US has its annual ‘Shining’ ball scheduled for Oct 29. But that’s not all, because there’s a murder mystery dinner on Oct 28.

Not to mention that the “Scarecrows in Estes Park Festival” is on until Oct 31, where you can see 150+ scarecrows every weekend, and enjoy everything from face painting to coloring contests and lots of entertainment.

Universal Orlando: The theme parks in Orlando tend to go overboard with their Halloween events, and Universal Orlando is doing its best to make it the best Halloween ever this year with “Halloween Horror Nights” for 25 days beginning Sept 23.

Universal is promising to scare you out of your wits with fiendish creatures, deceased souls and a Lady Luck who transforms from tempting seductress to bloodthirsty beast. The vacation and hotel package information can be found at www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando.

Hotel Hershey, Hershey, PA: The hotel’s Halloween in Hershey package includes luxe accommodations, breakfast with Hershey’s product characters and one-day admission to Hersheypark In The Dark, in addition to admission to Hershey Gardens and The Hershey Story Museum.

5 Orlando Hotels For A Weekend Getaway

This featured post is brought to you by UpTake’s Orlando Local Getaway Crew facebook page, a great resource for insider tips on things to do, places to eat and places to stay in Central Florida.  Stop by and give them a thumbs up to start sharing local tips!

Champagne and chocolate at favorite Orlando hotel

When I head to a new place, I usually spend as little money as possible on a hotel.  My reasoning is that I don’t travel to see new hotels, but to experience new places and a hotel in a far away city is nothing more than a place to rest my head and store my clothes between sightseeing adventures.

But when I want to relax, I love to head to a nearby hotel and stay put.  I enjoy a comfortable bed that I don’t have to make, a swimming pool that doesn’t raise my property taxes, and laundry that can be shoved in a suitcase and forgotten about for a few days.

If you want to escape real life for a few days, either alone, as a family, or with a significant other, you can’t go wrong with these Orlando hotels.

5 Orlando Hotels For A Weekend Getaway

  1. Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek - the first time I stayed at this hotel it was because of the location; I was going to EPCOT for my anniversary.  I’m dying to go back to enjoy the beds (Hilton properties have THE. BEST. BEDS.) and the amazing pools.
  2. Gaylord Palms Resort - talk about a property you could spend the weekend at.  Shop, eat, meander through the expansive courtyard, watch the alligators.  This hotel truly is a destination all on its own.
  3. Coco Key Hotel & Water Resort - NOT a hotel for relaxing at the spa, but a perfect place for a mini-family getaway.  Water slides, adult pool, game room, and a Pizza Hut onsite.
  4. Universal’s Royal Pacific Resorta Loews hotel in the Universal Resort, this is great if you’re visiting the amusement parks, but also a high end resort perfect for a romantic weekend.  They also have a kids club onsite in case you want to take a family weekend but also get a little one on one time with your co-parental-unit.
  5. The Peabody Orlando - this massive hotel has just finished up a major renovation and expansion project and now boasts a luxury spa, fitness center and THREE pools.  They also have several restaurants to choose from, a night club, and the famous twice-daily duck walk.

No Germ Left Behind at the Doubletree Universal Orlando

If you’re allergic to the odd microbe or two that usually get left behind inspite of the best efforts of the minimum-wage maid, then you want to take refuge at the Doubletree Universal Orlando – they’re offering an entire floor of PURE® Allergy Friendly Rooms.

That’s 24 brand-new PURE rooms which create an allergy-friendly environment and remove up to 98% of bacteria and viruses.

Bill Worcester, General Manager of The Doubletree Universal, said that his hotel is proud to be the first hotel in Orlando to offer these rooms capable of taking care of the needs of guests with asthma, severe allergies or chemical sensitivities.

So what exactly is a PURE room? Apparently its a 7-step purification process – the room is treated to remove allergens and irritants from all surfaces, fabrics and air flow. Once all the squatter bacteria, dirt and mold have been kicked out, a high ozone shock is administered which takes out any lingering odors left behind.

A shield and an air purifier is then installed, along with a hypo-allergenic mattress and pillow encasements, to prevent the return of the bacterial Jedi.

The 742-room Doubletree Orlando is located at the Universal Orlando Entrance. The King Bed Rooms offer floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Universal Orlando, plush-top king beds, flat screen television with cable, coffee/tea makers, mini refrigerators, a safe and a lot of other stuff which you’re never going to use.

Hotel amenities & services include free wireless internet in public spaces, a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool spa, fitness center, shuttle to Universal Orlando and Seaworld and an airport shuttle, 5 restaurants/bars/lounges plus a Starbucks in the main lobby, a gift shop and ATM, self-laundry and valet dry cleaning.
