Marriott Napa Valley Hotel and Spa Delivers for Business and Pleasure Travel!

Giant bed with great linens at the Marriott Napa Valley!

Two things are high on my must have list for hotel rooms:

  • plentiful and easy to access outlets so I can plug in my traveling library of electronic devices
  • good light in the bathroom so I can accurately apply my “too much for daytime, but perfect for me” eyeliner

You might think luxury hotels would always have these two oh-so simple features, but you’d be wrong. It’s hotels that cater to business travelers that always seem to come through for me.

I’m pleased to say that the magical place where you can find all of these delights is in my backyard: the Marriott Napa Valley Hotel and Spa.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Peddling Bottled Aloha Spirit

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki looks all set to spread the holiday cheer with some bottled Aloha Spirit aka bottles of wine, where 50% of the proceeds goes to charity.

Each of the ONEHOPE Wine bottles comes decked up with a ribbon of a specific color – pink for breast cancer, green for the environment, multi-colored for autism and yellow for the troops.

Choose your color, and 50% of the proceeds from your bottle of bubbly will end up in the pockets of a charitable organization which does work in the area the color represents. Also, ONEHOPE will be donating an additional $2.00 to the Hawaii Foodbank.

You can buy the ribbonized wino at the hotel’s two restaurants – Colony and Ciao Mein, until the end of the year.

Another special uncorked by the Hyatt Regency Waikiki is the Lokahi Package, offering random acts of Aloha as a hat-tip to the nation’s 44th President, who just happens to be a Kamaaina (local).

Under this package, the hotel will be donating $44 per room, per stay to the local Waikiki Community Center. Includes oceanview accommodations and daily buffet breakfast for two.

San Francisco Insider – Podcast of Fun

The gorgeous Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA

The gorgeous Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA

Last week Addison Schonland of the IAG travel and aviation consultancy interviewed me for my very first podcast.

If you’re curious to hear my insider recommendations for a fun-filled trip to San Francisco, CA, check out the podcast here.

We cover sights, food, going up to Marin and Healdsburg, driving down Rt. 1 to Monterey, hotels — of course! — and the many places to drink wine.

The stuff about San Francisco’s legendary naked people is near the end. Oh, and we sort of make fun of PETA, just a little at the beginning, in the context of needing a fur coat in when you visit here in June.

All the truth, all the time!
