The Inn at Christmas Place

The Inn at Christmas Place

Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas. It’s a beautiful time of year, and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I enjoy putting up decorations and taking walks at night to enjoy others’ decorations, and even going Christmas shopping. Buy staying in a Christmas-themed hotel? At the risk of sounding jaded, this might be where I draw the line…I am intrigued, however, so I thought I’d share.

The Inn at Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, apparently has pretty Victorian Christmas decorations year-round, and it just opened up in June of 2007. Most of the rooms have subtle Christmas decorations, and you can request a large quite that comes with a fully decorated tree. There are also glockenspiel and caroling bell concerts, Santa visits and a really nice pool complete with a 95-foot long curly slide. Holiday art is displayed throughout the hotel. This is obviously a very family-friendly hotel – don’t forget about the free breakfast, when everyone can get freshly made omelets.

The Inn at Christmas Place seems like it would be a nice place to take the family during this time of year, though I’m not sure how I’d feel about it in the middle of summer. Then again, there are stores which sell Christmas decorations year-round, so I guess the cheery Christmas spirit would be welcome here as well. It’s a cute idea. I wonder if Christmas music is played all the time?
