the-old-mill-weddingThe Old Mill has long been a integral part of Toronto’s heritage.  First discovered in 1615, it was then a thoroughfare for Native Canadians.  Now it is home to live entertainment, weddings and corporate meetings.

My mother was married at The Old Mill in 1989, and as her flower girl, I was in awe of the wedding gardens, which are still there and available for booking today.  The Inn will accommodate an outdoor wedding if it needs to be held indoors due to inclement weather. The architecture and gardens are beautiful settings for photography.

The rooms are posh and because of the age of the hotel, it is advised that you bring socks as it gets a little drafty.  The catering and food is high quality and not pricey, considering where you’re staying.  Current consumer reviews of the rooms and the food boast high marks in both areas.

The staff are friendly and helpful, as you would expect in a hotel of this caliber.  Please don’t be swayed away because of the live entertainment because you think it will be loud.  The rooms are far enough away from the festivities of weddings and live bands that your stay should be a fairly quiet one.  Save for a few drunken relatives in the corridors!
