There really nothing luxurious about the hotel at all-basic bathroom, bed, linens etc. Very nice staff, restaurant, etc just don't get your hopes up as I did that this is going to be a 4 1/2 star experience! more on Expedia

But the combination of the Waterfront's location (very close to gastown and walking distance to anything downtown), friendly staff, relatively new decor and elegance, great views, steam rooms and gym make this my favorite place to stay in Vancouver. more on Yahoo! Travel

Frankly, I'm not so sure why I love the Fairmont Waterfront so much. There are more historical hotels in Vancouver, there are trendy hotels, there are those in better locations and with better values.
