Two days before Christmas 1984 was when my mom and I first happened upon the Best Western Corte Madera Inn. Back then, one of the large family-sized rooms (which we stayed in and loved) was $70 a night—near-scandalous prices for bargain travelers in those days! Imagine my glee when, a little more than 21 years later, I signed up for the Association of Educational Therapists' all-day Brain Gym workshop to be held on site at this ...
