Located on peaceful Tomales Bay, Inverness is a quiet Californian town that booms with visitors during its humid summer months, although families visit Inverness all times of the year. Besides the famous shores that line the cityscape of small Inverness, families are quick to fill the popular resorts and hotels that line downtown Inverness. To get the best deals out of Inverness, take your family to the local lodging suites available downtown -- popular hotels here don't offer the same family friendly charm as the locally owned suites do.
If you want a view of the shore, there is lodging available also, although it is mostly populated with name-brand resorts and hotels. These hotels do offer some onsite and offsite attractions, including local restaurants, but we recommend sticking with downtown Inverness. Lodging in downtown Inverness runs cheap, usually less than $100 a night, and the rooms are spacious. Your kids won't be bored with the attractions available in town, including their scenic piers.
If you do consider spending your family vacation in Inverness, remember to stick with downtown instead of the popular shoreline. For more lodging and vacation information about Inverness, including hotels and kid friendly attractions, visit their website.
