Ski resort pales during summer

During my first trip to Mammoth Lakes, I stayed at the Mammoth Creek Inn, a hotel that is very clearly designed to cater to the ski crowd during the winter. My trip took place in August, and the staff seemed lackluster and uninterested. The hotel is designed to look like a European lodge, with lots of dark wood and alpine detailings.
