The City of Ontario in California would never have existed
if the Canadian engineer George Chaffey did not see potential in a barren
stretch of land called Cucamonga Desert. The visionary Chaffey strongly
believed that with a good supply of water, this land will be profitable. And
that was the seed that grew into a bustling tourist city called Ontario. Situated
between Los Angeles and Palm Springs, this city has become an extraordinary destination
for romantic getaways and family vacations because of the Ontario Mills Mall
and the mountain resorts. There are also numerous Ontario hotels and Ontario
motels to choose from and travelers can create their own travel guide from the
information provided by the Ontario
Convention Center and Visitors Bureau.
It is always advisable to arrange the accommodations in
advance before heading out to the city. But once in the city, the travelers can
immediately visit the Ontario Mills,
a shopping mall and entertainment center that is considered to be the largest
in Southern California. Occupying about 1.7 million square feet, it boasts of
11,000-seater arena as well as a multitude of stores, restaurants, and
theaters. There are also at least two mountain resorts that can be accessed
from Ontario. One is the San
Bernardino National Forest that can be explored on four wheels. The couple
can spend time in one of the 7 fire lookouts. The other is the Mountain High Resort that is typically
visited during winter by skiers.
