Hailed as the America’s Last
Hometown, the city of Pacific Grove in California is one of the most
charming and most friendly cities in the country. It is clustered together with
three internationally known towns, the Monterey, the Pebble Beach, and the
Carmel. But the City of Pacific Grove,
although less known, has numerous attractions including the Monarch Grove
Sanctuary, a unique habitat for the migrating insects, the sandy beach fronting
a dramatic coastline, and the west coast’s oldest and continuously operating
lighthouse, called the Point
Pinos Lighthouse. The lighthouse began operating on the first day of
February, 1855.
These attractions are complemented with low crime rate as
well as warm small-town hospitality. In fact, travelers can bring their pets
along when they visit this city. There are numerous Pacific Grove pet
friendly hotels and pet friendly resorts, such as the Sea Breeze Inn and
Cottages and the Sea
Breeze Lodge. Travelers will be pleasant surprised to find that this city
has an 18-hole golf course and a natural history museum. The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History has
permanent exhibits featuring native flora and fauna and the aboriginal
populations of the Monterey County. The travelers must only remember that the
museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
