My husband and I decided to get away at the last minute to St Helena. Everything was booked! We ended up staying at the Bartels' Ranch even though the last review was horrible. Jamie was very helpful with dinner options and activities. She emailed us directions and gave us some side trip pointers along the way. We arrived in town Friday night and stopped at the Seqoiua Grove Winery on 29, wine was good, staff was pleasant but not talkative. Off to Peju. Here you have to wait to be put into a tasting group, which might take 15 minutes or longer. The group setting offers an intimate tasting where you can get to know your fellow tasters. Next to Merryvale. This is a large tasting room and the staff is not very helpful or talkative, this might also be because it was almost closing time. We went across the street to Pizzeria Travigne.
