It is sometimes difficult to think of Santa Clara as a
destination of a romantic getaway. The city boasts of a booming electronics
industry and the concepts of “binary numbers” and “electronic chips” were never
really considered romantic. But romance comes in many forms and surprisingly,
there are numerous Santa Clara romantic hotels and similar romantic
accommodations. Despite the city’s emphasis on advance technologies, Santa
Clara still has a romantic past. For the couple’s romantic getaway, some of the
places to visit and know about the city’s fascinating story are the de Saisset
Museum at the Santa Clara University, the Triton Museum, and the Harris-Lass
Historic Preserve.
The romantic story of California is preserved well at the de Saisset Museum. There are permanent
collections that present the arts during major periods, such as the Missions
and the Gold Rush. The Triton Museum
provides a unique experience because the couple can watch the local artists
create their masterpieces and even participate in a silent auction. The Harris-Lass
Historic Preserve is the last farm in the city. The house has an Italianate
style which is popular in the late 19th century. The house has been restored,
along with a barn, a summer kitchen, and a tank house. When the couple needed a
break from sightseeing, they can spend a few minutes at the Central Park
Pavilion and listen to a free concert.
