1. Alder cabin can be noisy 2. Not the most hospitable

Having had a good experience at Tahoma Meadows, we wanted to try another TripAdvisor highly rated place in Tahoma. We chose Alder cabin because Sarah told us it was the far back on the property and would be very quiet. On our arrival there was a large, full garbage bag sitting by the door, an oversight by the cleaning staff and not a good first impression. The bag stayed until we left. Tranquility in Tahoma...

My family and I (myself, wife and 3 year old daughter) decided to take a last-minute trip to Lake Tahoe and wanted to stay on the less-commerical, rustic West Shore of the lake. Tahoma Lodge is one of the few places in the west shore that allows dogs and had a reservation available for pres. day weekend. Sarah, the host, was very nice and courteous.
