Pleasantly surprised!
My husband and I stayed at Fortune Valley because it was my birthday and I wanted to GAMBLE! I received a birthday discount card in the mail from Fortune Valley for their hotel ($50 Sun-Fri) and, because we never stay there, we decided to stay there this time. I checked out the website to see what type of music was playing--we have discovered that we really like the music at the FV. It's usually upbeat, modernized rockabilly...if you can imagine. Well, At Least It's in the Right Place
Central City is one of the most perfectly preserved Old West towns I've ever visited----------I believe the entire place is a designated national historic district. It's located in small valley encircled by steep hills. Old mines, some of them still in operation, dot the slopes above the town.
