This is the first time we have ever stayed at a ski in/out hotel. It was very nice not to have to drive to the slopes. The front desk staff was very nice. The price was right, but the hotel is older and not really that great. The floor had that matted down look and the carpet in our room needed a good vacuuming. Efficient staff. Limited dining. Bar was ok with outside seating. We were the only ones in there. Sort of boring. My room was sub-level so felt like a basement. We just returned from a ski trip to Steamboat. The Ptarmigan is pure convenience, and convenience me more time to have fun. The Ptarmigan has restaurant, a bar/lounge, a ski shop with rentals, and a ski storage valet. You pick up your skis at the ski storage, go out the door and you are 100 yards...
