Because of its location that is in partly in Stonington and partly in Groton, Mystic is a major tourist attraction. There are various attractions you can visit including the Mystic Aquarium, the Mystic Seaport, and its downtown shopping destination. The Mystic Seaport is also known as the Museum of American and the Sea; it is also the country's largest maritime museum.
Another destination you should visit is the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center as well as the Olde Mistick Village. The Mistick Village is particularly popular with tourists because of the retail and dining establishments that caters to the whole family.
