Nice hotel. Watch out for service issues.

This is a brand new Hampton Inn and Suites and I am big fan of Hampton Inn's and have become very brand loyal. The hotel is tastefully appointed and has all of the newest amenities that we have come to expect. I had a rate issue before arrival with the hotel when I tried to extend my reservation for 2 nights to check in 1 night early as my plans had changed to arrive early. So my stay would now be 3 nights instead of 2. The hotel had rooms and I was willing to pay a higher rate for that one night as I was quoted a rate online and over the phone. I was told by 2 different people that I would have to cancel my reservation reserved at the AAA rate and reserve all 3 nights at the higher rate. I asked why I could not just pay a higher rate for the 1 night or just book a 1 night reservation. I was told if I did that then the hotel would cancel my reservation. Again, I have stayed with Hampton many times and never encountered this issue. I was aggravated but decided to keep the 2 nights and ... A TripAdvisor Member, a user of Tripadvisor. Nice hotel but front desk is a total "Hassle" for anything

First let me say that the rooms were nice, beds and pillows were wonderful. A block of rooms had been reserved at this hotel for a 50th Wedding Anniversary. The problems started with reservations when they had NEVER heard of the couple or the confirmation number I had for the block of rooms. After several phone calls they finally admitted that they did have the block reserved. Several people in our group had the same problem. One was told that there was only one room booked and that was in the name of the anniversary couple - definitely NOT true as they live in the area. The front desk mgr. who works the 11-3 shift came from a Marriott but I wonder if she may have been fired from there as the way she handled guests did not refelct any training ... Loved this hotel
