The most superb oceanfront hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

My boyfriend and I booked the Crowne Plaza for a quick, romantic weekend for two. We stayed for three nights August 24-27, 2007 in a non-smoking, poolside room. Oceanfront hotels naturally experience a lot of wear and tear however; this is, by far, the most superb oceanfront hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The hotel is easy to find and is directly on A1A along the beach. It looked to be the nicest of Melbourne Beach hotels. The bellmen welcomed us as we arrived and the front desk had an adequate amount of front desk agents on duty. Check-in was smooth and friendly and we were told about the property appropriately. Not so nice!

When we first entered the hotel, we were so happy. The staff was really friendly and helpful, the accomodations appeared to be lovely, and the scenery from our back of the house room was still terrific. These touches mattered little in the end because our four night stay was marred by some of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel of this class. When we arrived a bit early our room was not yet available. The front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful - held our luggage while we changed and went to the beach.
