There was no warning about the renovations going on in the hotel. It reeked of paint and there were supplies just sitting in the middle of the floors. We stayed here in September 2005 around the time of Hurricane Rita. We only had two days of bad weather, so most of the time we were outside enjoying the hotel's beach and pool area. 1.0: Beware of booking through the hotel website!

Booked through The Palms own website, showed price, paid, and had confirmation. Then on checkout they increased the cost and said even though the website appeared to take the full payment it only took the first day, so that was how they could charge more (apparently it says this somewhere in the ...
