Rustic and Romantic

My husband and I (both 62) stayed 2 nites in a King-bedded unit March 1, 2005. We went to Molokai to check it out, and hike down to the leper colony (Kalaupapa). Out there!

March 27 & 28th, 2005. Wanted to visit Molokai after 8 yrs. of travel to HI. This resort was built on a grand scale, but unlike the baseball diamond in Field of Dreams, fewer came than expected (only 80,000 to Molokai in '04 out of the 7 million who visited HI.) Rundown old resort

What a shame this "resort" has been neglected for years and half of it is shut down. However I found out that the owners of Molokai ranch have bought all the abandoned units and are going to rebuild along the beautiful golf course. Quite a Disappointment

These "villas" were not exactly what we had expected. Once probably a nice resort, half of the buildings on the premises were abandoned. The restaurant, front desk, lobby and souvenir stores (except for one) had all been closed for years. Make sure you arrive with plenty of food and gas, especial...
