Cedar Rapids Iowa is a centrally-located destination for romantic travelers seeking the charm and personality of the Midwest.   The city’s Visitors Center’s website is easy-to-navigate and filled with suggestions for your stay in Cedar Rapids.  The steered us over to the charming and budget-friendly Belmont Hill Victorian Bed & Breakfast, the highlight of our stay!  We enjoyed the privacy and décor of the Belmont Suite, which encompasses the entire second floor.  It’s the perfect setting for honeymoons and anniversary vacations.  At breakfast, we loved the beautifully decorated table, with fine china, crystal, and the charm of a nearby fireside.

Just 20 minutes outside Cedar Rapids, we discovered The Golden Haug Bed & Breakfast made a wonderfully romantic setting for our holiday.  We recommend the Inn to Africa Room, with its king-sized bed covered by lush suede comfortable and down-filled silk blankets.  The gourmet breakfast was a treat in the mornings, and we relaxed in the in room hot-tub.  The Inn’s entire third floor is devoted to the romantic suite, aptly named “Seasuns of Serenity.”  The room’s heart-shaped hot tub and two-person shower are beloved by visiting couples.

The Cedar Rapids Marriot offers an excellent romantic getaway package with down comforters in every room.  We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and strawberries, and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast included with the room rate.
