Due to the historical significance, unique location, and other attractions, the next destination for family vacations can be the City of Paducah in Kentucky. But this city may not be very attractive for very young kids who have already been exposed to more sophisticated thrill rides in large amusement centers. Paducah is a place that would be interesting to kids who are fascinated with the beautiful ruggedness of nature and of Indian history. The name itself, “Paducah” is believed to be taken from the legendary leader of the Chickasaw, Chief Paduke. And the downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Paducah’s location is interesting because it is near several bodies of water. On a map, it is right below the Ohio River and near the Tennessee River. The Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake, and Kentucky’s Western Water Lands are also nearby. Family vacations in Paducah would entail the selection of which body of water will the family want to see every morning. To make the vacation planning easier, the family can use the Paducah’s travel guide.
