It is a historic hotel and is right on the streetcar line, but it would be too far for me to walk down to the French Quarter and I wouldn't want to do it at night. more on VirtualTourist

You can walk or take a taxi, but I recommend the tram, which stops right in front of the hotel on Canal street. more on VirtualTourist
