Don't do it!!!

Booked there based on a "AAA" rating. We paid $189. plus per night! The moment we parked our car I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good. We ate the cost of the room and left!

I now understand why rooms must be pre-paid in full and they make you sign a paper that says you can't get a refund--otherwise, everyone would want a refund! The Ledgelawn has the potential to be a beautiful inn--but the owners haven't put the money into the place to make it more than a "restored inn wannabe" and they haven't hired employees to run the place. I never saw anyone who looked like they were in charge of anything. The decor was done by amateurs. Walls were painted without spackling--paint was rolled over holes and cracks. Wallpaper was never removed--it was painted over. Even the plumbing pipes beneath my bathroom sink had been painted blue. But these aren't the sort of things that usually bother me and I would have overlooked them this time if everything else had been in order. It was the small things that piled up that ruined my stay. Tawdry Lady

Where to begin. The place was just dirty. We stayed in the carriage house. There was dirt on the stairs and carpets some from pealing paint. Maintenance was abysmal - sloppy paint, hack-job drywall fixes and the sink pulled away from the wall when you turned on the hot water. Dirt on the wainscoating.
