It's about 5 min cab ride to the Forbidden Palace, etc. There is an internet cafe (or bar as they call it there) right across in the So Show building. more on VirtualTourist

Also, if mandarin is not your native language, I highly recommend that when you first arrive at the airport in Beijing and get in a taxi, you have the hotel's phone number handy. more on VirtualTourist
