We recently spent 3 nights at the Hampton Inn in Waldorf MD. The hotel is about 30 minutes to the nearest Metro station and a 20 minute train ride into the city, so it is not exactly convenient to the DC area,but it's kind of nice to get away from the crowds in the city.
