Charming inn for people and dogs
There are several (very) negative reviews of the Simmons Homestead Inn on this website, and it's a good thing we didn't read them until after we had made our reservation. Having spent--and enjoyed--a week there, however, we can urge you to ignore the vitriolic comments on this site and take the merely critical ones at face value. Even though my husband is a police officer and at first was not totally comfortable with no locks on the doors, by the 2nd day, we were totally comfortable. This place ... although the accomodations are only about 3 star, the in keeper is way cool. he is a character and his character shines throughout the inn (if you visit the website, you'll see what I mean). you never have to worry about what to do ...
