Its strategic location at the Falls of St. Anthony inevitably made Minneapolis a center of commerce. Throughout the history of the area, the falls was the largest source of power in the Mississippi River and it was used by the lumber mills and flour mills for power. It is apparent that the "City of Lakes" is named as such because of its parkland and water resources. But more than its practical uses, its outdoors have many other things to offer as well. For example, the parks have walking and biking trails around the like so it is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the early morning.
On the other hand, its neighborhoods is notable; its downtown is a visual feast with high-rise suites, nightlife scene, and sporting events all combined in one place. Meanwhile, the northeast part of the city is the oldest part of the city so arts and culture finds its home here.
