Hattiesburg,
which is also known as the Hub City of
the South, is a developing region due to the six major highways that
connect the city to Jackson, Natchez, Mobile and New Orleans. This made
Hattiesburg an educational and medical center for the state of Mississippi. At
the same time, Hattiesburg is a romantically positioned city because it is
found at the fork of two rivers, the Leaf and the Bouie. There are areas of
untamed wilderness where people can spend a wonderful day trekking. Thus,
Hattiesburg can be a terrific city where couples can visit for a romantic
getaway.
The
romantic getaway may begin by a visit to the Hattiesburg Zoo, which is
within the area of the Kamper Park. At the 21-acre zoo, the couple can ride in
the miniature train and get a quick view of the animals being protected, such
as the lemurs, macaws, llamas, prairie dogs, tigers, monkeys, zebras, and
ostriches. Then, the next stop for the romantic getaway is the Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby.
It showcases artifacts and memorabilia from several wars, such as the Civil
War, the two world wars, the Korean, the Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf. And the
next stop is the Museum of Art of the
University of Southern Mississippi, where three galleries are exhibited.
