Beware! Harsh Cancellation Policy

I recently booked one night's stay at Hyatt Lake Tahoe. Plans changed and I needed to cancel. Since I booked on the Internet, they have a minimum $50 charge on all cancellations. Loved the Cottages at the Hyatt
We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hyatt Resort in Incline Village, Nevada. We booked a Double Room in the cottages on the upper floor which gave us a balcony and small view of the lake. Over rated?
Yes, the hotel is located convenient to Lake Tahoe, and it is beautiful there. But I was not impressed with the services at all. We were there for 3 days, and the electricity was cut off due to maintenance on 3rd day. I would appreciated the warming when we were checking in.
