Perfect if you have a BIG DOG

Traveling to the River with boat in tow and a Saint Bernard in the back seat, the Pioneer was the perfect choice for us! I called 5 months in advace to book the "dog room" and was told that they wouldn't take a reservation more than 90 days in advance. Being somewhat limited on choices of hotel with an extra large dog, and since the Pioneer has a very limited number of rooms that they will allow a dog in, I counted out the 90 days on the calendar ... The Pioneer in Laughin--think upscale motel instead of hotel and you'll be fine.

For an unexpected overnight stay in Laughlin, I phoned the Pioneer the morning of my arrival day and got a non-smoking room for $27.50 total. This low price trumps any of my minor complaints. I arrived at the advertised 3PM checkin time and was politely and quickly checked in. The outside temperature was 115 degrees but my room air conditioner was roaring away--I'm not sure if this is Pioneer policy, or if the housekeeper was having hot flashes, but the ... zundapp, a user of Tripadvisor.
