4.0: Fresh cool air only 40 miles from the desert heat

Fresh cool air only 40 miles from Las Vegas That is so hard to believe but it’s true. I have an outside temperature gauge in my car dashboard. We left Las Vegas at 105 degrees as we turned on to Nevada road 157 off of the northbound US 95. The temperature kept dropping on the 19 mile trip to Mt. Charleston lodge ([--]) ending with a cool 67 degrees at the lodge.
