Great New England History
We stayed at the Alden Country Inn during a college visit to Dartmouth, ten miles down the road in Hanover. This is a wonderful country inn (and it IS in the country) that exudes New England history. Definitely "historic"
Just returned from a week-end at the Inn -- our first and last time there. Our room, #17, was on the third floor -- up two flights of narrow stairs. There was the tiniest of sinks in the corner, and the "bathroom" was a converted closet. There was hardly room to sit on the toilet without putting ... MamaFleisch, a user of Tripadvisor. Nice rooms, cold inkeeper
I stayed here with my boyfriend in July 06, and while the inn was clean and well-kept, the reception from the innkeeper was frosty! She made us feel as if we were imposing upon her by staying there. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Inn. I was most impressed with the friendliness of the owners and the cleanliness and decor of this very old building. GREAT PLACE TO GET AWAY
This was our first time at a bed and breakfeast. The Alden Country Inn went above and beyond all expectations. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous.
