- The hotel room was musty, the ac did not work and the hotel maintenance man that repaired it was either drunk, on drugs or woke up on the wrong side of the bed. - Hobbs has become something of a boom town with the opening of new oil wells and new drilling. (The result of the current high barrel prices). For this reason lodging can be difficult to locate.
