Athenaeum Hotel on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution

The Hotel was built in the Saratoga-style in 1881 and restored in 1984. It is the center of traditions and style at Chautauqua . Many famous people and presidents have stayed at the Hotel, including Bill Clinton . A Big Dissapointment
Never before have I paid so much for so little. In my opinion, this is one historic hotel that is simply not worth the time or money -- especially for families traveling with small children. My recommendation is to find a decent place elsewhere and stop by the Athenaeum for lunch, if at all. Our room was is in desperate need of an overhaul.
