I especially like the docking. You can dock your boat, fish off the dock, buy hotdogs and candy, and check out the bulliten board for going ons in Lake Placid, grab a summer reading book, or just kick back and relax on an adirondack chair nicely situated by the boats. You have to go there!
Anyone who loves design, authentic architecture and upscale finishing should go to Whiteface Lodge. We arrived on a Thursday and left on a Sunday.
