It pains me to see my favorite hotel chain perform poorly, much the same as watching your hometown sports team lose a game. Mediocrity started at check in where the clerk gave us a non-smoking room instead of smoking. Only when I showed him the printed confirmation stating "smoking" did he go in the back office for ten minutes.
