Do ask for one that is, we did and I'm glad because even with being recently renovated, the furniture was a bit tatty. more on VirtualTourist

The staff was cold but efficient enough and the room we stayed in was large with great views of central park. more on TripAdvisor

My advice would be spend a few dollars more or less and stay somewhere else. more on Yahoo! Travel

The king-sized bed was comfy and there were 2 enormous closets and a small kitchen pantry with a refrigerator and sink. more on VirtualTourist

The Mayflower, while not being a new hotel, was comfortable, safe, clean, and convienent.
