Far exceeded expectations, would love to stay again

I stayed here for 4 nights in mid-October, in a Bowery Queen. I wasn't expecting much, given the location (newly gentrifying neighborhood) & my generally poor experiences at "hip hotels" around the world (which often have great common areas but terrible service/rooms). First of all the decor is completely reminiscent of old New York -- it feels like an antique lodge. We loved this! HOWEVER the attitude of the staff and the management leaves much to be desired.
